We’ve all seen the videos online of deer bowing their heads to people as they video them. But did you know they are bowing because they want what you have….food! I don’t know why they don’t all have huge necks from the amount of bowing that they do. I mean really……..it’s a lot!
One cool thing about traveling to other places is having people you know living there to give you a bit of the casual day feel about a city. This was exactly the case when we visited Nagoya. Of course when visiting friends they always want to take you to their favorite restaurants. Needless to say there will be lots of food talk in this one! The first place we stopped for eat was a little place we called Sumo Pig Restaurant. I also like to believe if I was a pig this would be how I look. Now the real name Misokatsu Yabaton and is a miso katsu specialty restaurant.
Finally we are off on our way from Tokyo to see more of the greatness that is Japan. We took the bullet train from Tokyo to the city of Kyoto. While the train was super fast it was easy to grab a quick pic of Mount Fuji in the background.
After a literal travel “around the globe” I made it to the Land of the Rising Sun. Miami to Doha = 14 hours. Overnight at The Pearl in Qatar. Doha to Tokyo = 10 hours. Two days of travel and every minute is worth it.
Did I think I would draw as much attention while walking the streets of Tokyo? No. I mean I did think that I would be stared at a bit seeing as I am, frankly, a plus size gentleman. Little did I know that it would draw the attention of television. Yep, you heard me. Shinbuya Station is the busiest intersection in the world. People sit up at a Starbucks across the street just to watch people….well walk. And it was there I became famous (so to speak).
